Job Description
This position is responsible for operating sanitation vehicles and performing physically demanding outdoor manual labor for the collection and disposal of refuse and other waste items within the City. Employees in this position are required to provide excellent customer service, become independent on all collection routes and vehicles, and maintain the safety of themselves and the Service Worker IIs under their supervision. This position is in the City’s Solid Waste Division and reports directly to the Sanitation Crew Chief.
Skills
• -Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
• -Ability to act as Division Crew Chief when necessary.
• -Ability to frequently lift/move 60lbs.
• -Ability to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell.
• -Ability to respond to afterhours call-ins in a reasonable amount of time.
• -Ability to comply with work schedules.
• -Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and operate controls and tools.
• -Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing and possess good people skills.
• -Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time, possibly in inclement weather.
Pay
$17.01 + 7% Incentive
