We’re looking to add a Diesel Mechanic to our growing team.
The individual in this role will be responsible for diagnosing and servicing commercial trucks along with other heavy equipment. Must be experienced with diagnostic software, engine rebuilds, transmission repairs and basic maintenance/service. We are seeking a candidate with some leadership experience to guide and assist service techs. Should have a background in diesel mechanics, standard electrical and hydraulics.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform condition inspections from company standard checklist. Identify mechanical and electrical problems with computer diagnostic equipment and electrical troubleshooting equipment.
Perform standard maintenance, changing oil, filters and checking all fluid levels including the repair or replace of worn parts, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems and sensors.
Test drive and operate equipment to make sure it’s in good working order.
Skills
ASE certification - is a plus
High School diploma or equivalent – preferred
Completion of a postsecondary program in automotive service technology – is a plus
Experience with electronic systems maintenance and repair – preferred
Experience in engine performance – preferred
Experience with AC diagnostic and repair – preferred
Certification in a related field from a vocational school – is a plus
Detail oriented, organized and thorough
Good with communication and time management
Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
Mechanically and analytically minded
Driver’s license – required
CDL license – a plus (can be obtained after 2-year work contract and be compensated in full)
Welding and Electrical – is a plus, but can train
Pay
up to $42 per hour, DOE
Work Hours
Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm
