Inspector / Sorter (Manufacturing) Location: Oldsmar, FL 34677 Pay: $17.00/hour Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Overtime: Available as needed Job Type: Full-Time | 1st Shift Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Inspector / Sorter to support quality inspection and production in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on inspecting, measuring, sorting, and documenting parts to ensure products meet quality standards. Key Responsibilities Inspect raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products for defects or deviations Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools Sort and grade parts based on size, type, or quality standards Operate manual or automated sorting and testing equipment Record inspection results and production data accurately Identify and report quality issues or equipment concerns Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Assist with minor rework or defect removal as needed Qualifications Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects Basic math and measurement skills Ability to read work orders or technical documentation (preferred) Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks Reliable attendance and team-oriented mindset High school diploma or equivalent preferred Manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred (training provided) Work Environment Manufacturing / production setting Standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks Use of precision measurement tools Why This Role? Inspect Products: Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process parts, and finished springs to identify defects, damage, or deviations from specifications. Measure Dimensions: Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure products meet strict size and shape requirements. Sort Materials: Grade and sort springs and other metal-formed items by size, type, color, weight, or other criteria, separating non-conforming items. Operate Equipment: Monitor and operate manual or automated sorting and testing equipment. Document Results: Accurately record inspection data, production output, and acceptance/rejection details in written or electronic formats. Report Issues: Communicate quality concerns, equipment malfunctions, or production problems to supervisors or quality personnel. Maintain Work Area: Keep your workstation clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. Assist with Rework: Perform minor adjustments or remove small defects (such as burrs or chips) when needed.
