CVOR Surgical Technologist Reporting To Director of Surgical Services Location Hollywood, FL Our client is a high-quality healthcare services in South Florida. Scope and Responsibilities Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of cardiovascular surgical procedures for the Adult or Pediatric/ Congenital population. Specific Responsibilities • Demonstrates accuracy and appropriate handling, labeling, and hand off to nurse of all specimens and cultures according to company’s policy. Verifies name of specimen with Physician. • Demonstrates proper sterile technique during procedure. Handoff to other crew members. • First scrub adult & pediatric complex vascular and cardiovascular procedures including transplants. • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. • Provides age and developmental appropriate care to infants, children, adolescents or adults. • Travels outside the OR suite to assist with placing adult & pediatric patients on ECMO or other mechanical assist device. • Assists with preparing, positioning and draping patients. • Assist with appropriate instruments to physician during surgery. Assures accountability for proper counts of instruments and supplies during surgery. • Maintains sterile fields to prevent site infections. Key Selection Criteria • Accredited Program: Surgical Technologist (Required) BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART) • One (1) year of experience required.
