Job Description
Position Title: Stripping Technician
Reports To: Strip Supervisor & Plant Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Strip jobs per written work instructions and per job traveler
• Prioritize jobs to be stripped and ensure priority list is followed precisely; stage parts in priority order
• Complete all incoming inspections prior to strip
• Sign job traveler as polishing activities are completed
• Identify proper measuring tools and record all measurements accurately
• Maintain inventory of chemicals, hydrometers, and other essential materials
• Maintain strip logs accurately
• Check and record specific gravity daily
• Maintain record of the quantity of any chemical added
• Work directly with quality department to identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies
• Operate forklifts, hand tools, and overhead cranes
• Clean brackets in the tanks as needed
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area
• Gain and utilize thorough knowledge of company history, culture, identity, and goals
• Responsible for observing all safety practices by ensuring all machine guards and other safety equipment or devices are in place and in good working order before and during operation
• Ensure all required personal protection equipment is used at all times
• Help in other departments as needed or as instructed by supervisor
Skills
• Knowledgeable in use of Spectrometer, PH Meters, Basic Hand Tools, Precision Tools (Micrometers, Thickness Gauges).
• Understanding of electrical systems a plus.
Pay
$15-16 / Hr
Work Hours
8:00am-4:30pm
